# Community ID and Ownership Code

## Finding your Community ID

Your community ID allows users to [manually join your community](/cad/tutorials/getting-started/inviting-users-to-your-cad.md).

The ID can be found in the account menu dropdown once inside of a community.

## Authenticating your Ownership

While requesting support from an [official Sonoran team member](https://support.sonoransoftware.com/) (via our support portal), you may be asked to authenticate your community's ownership.

{% hint style="danger" %}
Your community's ownership authentication code can only be retrieved from your CAD owner.\
\
This code is used in support tickets to confirm that you are the registered owner of the community. **NEVER** give this code out to anyone that is not a member of the Sonoran support team!
{% endhint %}

1. In the admin page, navigate to `Advanced` > `Authenticate`
2. Press the "Request Code" button
3. Your ownership authentication code will be displayed on the screen

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.sonoransoftware.com/cad/tutorials/getting-started/finding-your-community-id-and-authentication-code.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
